We are delighted to have been awarded Winchester University’s office supplies contract and we wanted to share some information about us and what the new contract arrangements will mean for you and the increased range of benefits available for the University.
Warrens Office was established in 1996 and is based in Winnall, on the outskirts of Winchester. The business focuses on supplying a small number of larger organisations with:
- Office stationery
- Office print
- Office furniture
- Catering and beverage consumables for the kitchen
- Janitorial consumables for the washrooms
- Corporate workwear and clothing
Plus a number of other services such as archiving and secure document destruction.
Whilst the relationship with Winchester University goes back some years, the new arrangements will see the following changes implemented:

Notbox is a unique, cost-effective and environmentally-friendly alternative to the traditional one-use cardboard box. In short, it is:
Green
In terms of carbon footprint, 1,200 ‘one trip’ cardboard boxes are the equivalent of only 80 multi-trip Notboxes.
Economical
Notbox can be used in exactly the same way as a standard cardboard box, but will last for up to three years!
Durable
Notbox has been compression tested up to 35kg without bowing or breaking, which is far more than a standard cardboard box can support.
Notbox is available in six different industry standard sizes and in
28 colours with either zip or velcro fastening option.
Notbox is a new concept aimed at taking the traditional ‘one use’ cardboard box out of the global supply chain. Have you ever imagined how many cardboard boxes there are in the world? Probably not, but if you consider that the largest container vessel in the world can carry 15,000 ocean containers - and in each of those there could be as many as 400 cardboard boxes - that means that on one vessel alone there could be as many as six million cardboard boxes arriving into the UK every day! And that’s just on one vessel.
A large proportion of these cardboard boxes will not be recyclable for one reason or another, and will eventually find their way to landfill, adding to the country’s growing waste burden. Have a think about this. Every tonne of cardboard we can recycle saves:

Re-usable and rotable products - from ocean containers to pallets to roller cages - are in use throughout the supply chain, so why not the humble cardboard box?
After 10 shipments of product, Notbox will have saved the CO2e equivalent of almost four industry standard BDCM1 cardboard boxes being manufactured, plus the disposal of nine. Notbox, however will go on, and on and on. It’s an environmentally-friendly alternative to the standard cardboard box, and its changing the way the world thinks of them . . .
Fewer delivery miles with your order

We will be restricting our deliveries to twice a week; all orders placed on Fridays, Mondays and Tuesdays will be delivered on the following Wednesday. All orders placed on Wednesdays and Thursdays will be delivered on a Friday.

Electric vehicles to be introduced for use on all our deliveries to Campus
We will be taking delivery of our first electric van towards the end of 2019 and in an attempt to do our little bit to improve Winchester’s air quality we are committed to ensuring that all University deliveries will be made in one of these vehicles. Not only that but we will also be introducing our own electricity generating capability on one of our warehouse roofs to provide clean electricity to power these vehicles.
